Winter has arrived, crisp, cold, and muted blue/grey skies with a strange white sheen that makes you wonder, is there snow on the horizon?
Either way, it’s time to hunker down, and hibernate with a good read, and a manuscript in progress. And I have to say, I’m loving the magic of Blood Gift Chronicles Book 3, a book that slips into different time periods, with overlapping lives as we move towards answers to the big question… I love a good origin story, and I love magic, so here goes. And with new societies and landscapes there’s much to get my teeth into. Finally, I get up close and personal with the elusive Evren, a woman who doesn’t fit, but who lives dangerously unapologetically.
And so much more…
Writing is re-writing is re-writing. This year has seen some big changes to the novel, after a seed of doubt, or rather inspiration, wouldn’t leave. And I went for it, and am still working on it. No one said it was easy, but I’m excited.
So excited, I must get back.
But first, let me leave you with a few snaps from a recent(ish) day trip. Don’t you love discovering or rediscovering places close to home that you never knew how much you loved, until you decided to take the time. Well, this is Plymouth, seen in a whole new light, with an enormous history that is dark, awe-inspiring, tragic and in places, just wow! To think hyena, woolly rhinoceros, bison, cave lions, cave bears and woolly mammoths once roamed the South Devon countryside. Cave lion remains were pretty awesome in Plymouth’s The Box. Such a great day. But first, the art-filled cobbled streets of the Barbican, and sweeping quayside views.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead.
